Business-Related Content Guidelines
Imagine Northeast Iowa is all about great regional content that highlights our six-county region’s rich people, places, and events. In order to keep our site, fresh, focused, and relevant, we ask that submitted content regarding area businesses: Maintain a focus on businesses that are of particular significance to tourists and families. (Ask yourself-- would folks from out of town come to town just to visit this place? Popular examples of such places are restaurants, museums, gift shops, etc.) Refrain from reading like press releases. Doesn’t seek to promote non-locally established corporate entities. In the event that a business is not of particular significance to tourists and families, we ask that the post focus on a business-related event. For example: We’re likely to reject a post about the general day-to-day operations of a local hardware store. However, if that post: Tells us a meaningful and/or historical story of the development of that small town business, we’re likely to treat it differently. If that post focuses on a specific event related to that business (for example, they’re having a Grand Opening or hosting a fundraiser for local disaster relief), we’re apt to publish it. Thanks for contributing to Imagine Northeast Iowa about the terrific and vital Northeast Iowa businesses that make life in the region rich and sustainable.
