Saint Ansgar B and B- in Saint Ansgar, Ia. (www.bluebelleinn.com/ ) This 1896 Queen Anne Victorian has everything you would imagine such a place would have from wood floors to tin ceilings.Events at the inn include craft workshops, murder mysteries and horse drawn sleigh rides. There is also hiking, golfing, hunting and cross country skiing or a float down the Cedar River to be enjoyed in the area. With ten rooms rates are from $85 per night.

Stauer House B and B- in McGregor, Ia. ( http://stauerhouse.com/ ) With full spa services and Victorian charm this 1882 house went through a restoration by the new owners in 2002. Enjoy the beachs of the Mississippi River or Pikes Peak State Park in this area. McGregor is located in the middle of The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. Four rooms with ratess $79-$99

Cozy Corners B and B- in New Hampton ( http://www.cozycornersbnb.com/  ) Established in 2012 this bed and breakfast has several quaint churchs, parks, a water park and Spook Cave nearby to entertain visitors. Also the Tri/Mark Freedom Trail which is 2.4 miles long with six rest stops, and a gazebo. Four rooms with rates $105-$165

The Decker House - in Mason City (http://www.thedeckerhousemc.com/ ) This champagne colored 1890 Neoclassical home is full of beautiful antigues and is located next to Music Man Square in the historic neighborhood of Frank Lloyd Wright's Historic Park Inn. And other points of interest are the Macnider Museum and the Stockman House, the Rock Glen neighborhood, Meredith Willson's boyhood home, the Mason City Public Library, Southbridge Malland downtown restaurants. An excellent place for private parties, a weekend getaway or a week day business stay. Six rooms with rates at $85-$195.

Thornton House - in Lansing (http://www.thethorntonhouse.com/ ) Centrally located on the upper Mississippi River it was built in 1873 of Italianate Victorian styling. Just a 5 minute walk to four restaurants, downtown shops, a liquor store, grocery store and such attractions as the Mt.Hosmer summit with Mississippi River valley vistas of Minnesota and Wisconsin and to the Mississippi River's edge. With several state parks, a fishing barge, the VillaLouis tour, spook cave tours, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park and Museum. Five rooms with rates from $95- $150

This Victorian was built in 1895 in the Iowa River Greenbelt area. Three rooms and a common room with rates of $65-$75

The Barrelhead Vineyard nearby and a Heritage bike trail. Things to do in and around Dubuque are: Crystal Lake Cave, yacht tours, tri-state views at Eagle Point Park, Mississippi River National Museum and Aquarium and the Greyhound Park and Casino. Eight rooms with a den, conference room and solarium with rates at $129-179.
