The trees are beginning to blossom. Tulips and crocuses are emerging from the long winter. It’s time to celebrate the beauty of spring. How about making some special memories with your mother and/or daughter?
The Spillville Public Library has just the event for you! Grab that spring dress and come to the first ever Spring Mother/Daughter Tea Sunday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. Sit down to a lovely decorated table with tea and scrumptious treats. Honor that special lady in your life with some quality girl time. Maybe you'll want to find some fancy hats to add to the fun of the occasion. This would make a fabulous early Mother’s Day surprise and only costs $5 per person, which includes a light luncheon. Please RSVP to the library at 563-562-3273 or email them at email@example.com by Friday, April 22. Life is short. Make sure the special women in your life know you want to spend time with them. Can you imagine your young lady’s eyes light up, dressed in her finest, as she spends a few hours in your company? Remember to take some photos of the elegant event that just may be a lifetime memory for both of you!
Another event the Spillville Public Library is putting on is a Bake Sale and Used Book Sale to be held Saturday, April 30 from 9-noon. The library staff has been busy weeding books paperbacks and hardback mysteries, romance, westerns, and more to make room for new books. Books will be on sale for a free-will donation. Stock up for summer, as used books are great to take along for traveling, fishing trips, lounging by the pool, by the campfire, or any place where you may not want to carry your tablet or library book. (One special lady that I know has been known to lose her books overboard when she gets excited reeling in her fish on a boat.) The library has a great selection to choose from, including mysteries, romance, science fiction, and more. I’d suggest coming early for the best selection of baked goods and books.
Mark your calendars and have a great time supporting your local library.
