Fatbike Rental Comes to Decorah

One of Decorah’s local bike shops is supplying a new way for you to have fun this winter season: fatbikes!

Fatbikes are becoming notoriously popular with cyclists all over, besides their unique look and large tires, they give you the ability to go out and ride off road in the snow with more confidence. When winter set in, those who thrive on riding off road or on the mountain bike trails likely found themselves limited in what they could do and where they could go.

Fatbikes with fat tires help you get to where you need to go. Larger tires and lower air pressure provide more traction. It’s not to say you will not work to get to where you are going, because you will have more weight to push around, but the ability to explore the outdoors in the winter is well worth it. Travis, owner of Decorah Bicycles, decided to bring forth a fatbike rental fleet to give Decorah this fun wintertime activity. You get your choice of riding a Surly Pugsley or a Trek Farley, and each bike was custom built! Not only do you get to experience a bike that is built extremely well with attention to detail, but you get to experience what it’s like to ride a fatbike. They also come equipped with bar mitts to keep your hands from being exposed to the cold and elements.

If you have ever had your curiosity piqued from seeing someone rolling around on one of these intriguing bikes, now is your chance! Stop down at the shop and talk to Travis about renting one of these fun bikes. It’s time to stop letting the snow and ice stop you from having some fun out in the snow!

Fatbike rental pricing is $25.00 for four hours, or $40.00 for full 24 hour day. The monthly rental rate is $250.00 Check out Decorah Bicycles on Facebook, to stay in the loop.
