Get Ready for the Winneshiek County Farm Crawl

Take a trip through the rolling hills of Northeast Iowa on the annual Winneshiek Country Farm Crawl. This family-friendly event is free and open to all ages. It includes farm tours, food and wine samples, live music, a tomato tasting concert, milking demonstrations, and a pork roast dinner.

Wondering where to start? We've got you covered.

1. The Winneshiek Farmer's Market

Start your day at the Winneshiek Farmer’s Market in downtown Decorah. There will be fresh fruit, tasty treats, and a ton of handmade arts & crafts.

2. The Winneshiek Wildberry Winery

Next up, make your way to the Winneshiek Wildberry Winery. There, you can walk the vineyards, sample the wines, and enjoy good food and good company.

3. Seed Savers Exchange

The day doesn't end there. Head over to Seed Savers Exchange and enjoy hayrides, a salsa tasting contest, and a workshop on how to save your own seeds.

4. Empty Nest Winery

After that, head to Empty Nest Winery and watch the virtual tour on how wine is made through good-old-fashioned fermenting. Sample ciders and wine will be offered to people twenty-one years and older.

5. WW Homestead Dairy

What would a farm crawl be without WW Homestead Dairy? At WW Homestead Dairy, you can learn all about their award winning cheese curds and ice cream.

6. Raising the Roof Fundraising Concert

To finish the fun-filled day, Winneshiek County Fairgrounds is putting on a Raising the Roof Fundraising Concert.

We can't wait to see you Saturday, September 2nd!

What a great way to explore Winneshiek County. I bet much or all of this tour could be conducted in green fashion on a bike!
