Water Street in downtown Decorah is, in many ways, the heartbeat of the community. Its eclectic mashup of businesses and organizations create a completely unique and totally charming scene. But there's so much more to Decorah's "main drag" (not to be confused with Main Street-- that's a block south!).
It's easy to forget that above the shop doors, there are countless living spaces that have served as a home base for many. Water Street is a neighborhood too!
That's what we want to hear from you about, on Imagine Northeast Iowa's new spring story series-- Waking on Water.
Here's how it works:
1.) Now through May 31st, submit your stories about living on Water Street-- or interview someone who has. We know a lot of life has been lived in these spaces! Signup to blog in seconds. It's easy, and free.
2.) Once your post is published to the site, we'll let you know right away, and you can start sharing your story via email or social media with your friends, family, and fans. Your "Waking on Water" feature is also guaranteed to earn you a few bucks.
3.) We'll share each story across our own social media channels and together we'll help weave together a tapestry of precious Decorah stories of a similar thread. It's going to be so much fun!
**Do you have a great story to share, but aren’t up for writing? We’ve got you covered! Fill out our survey and we’ll drum up a piece for you!
Ready to submit? We can't wait to publish your story! Write on, Northeast Iowa!
