This Saturday, from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at the North Fayette Valley High School in West Union, will be the 26th annual Parent Share and Support annual holiday show. I, among at least forty other vendors will be there. This is one of the biggest craft shows in Northeast Iowa and traditionally brings in a great crowd for the much sought after items made by the artists for that special someone or for yourself.
The craft event has traditionally kicked off the holiday shopping season with unique, handcrafted, and homemade items from crafters around Northeast Iowa. The annual event continues to be the traditional kick off to the holiday shopping season in Fayette County.
Here is some information about the sponsors and what they use the proceeds for. “Parent Share and Support is a private, non-profit agency that provides education and prevention programming for children and families in Fayette County. Parent Share and Support’s projects, activities, and goals are offered to promote personal growth and well- being of families in Fayette County. We strive to empower parents and caregivers to feel confident and effective in their role as their child’s first and most influential teacher. We continue to work to increase the awareness of community resources and supports for families. The agency has worked to meet the needs of Fayette County families for over thirty years. Proceeds generated from the show continue to be distributed back into the community through a variety of programs: Parent Education, Programming, Group Meetings, Child Passenger Safety, Crisis Child Care Emergency Child Care, and Draw the Line/Respect the Line (teen pregnancy prevention programming).”

You can also see my work in various businesses in the area towns as well. New this fall for craft sales is the wide variety of canvas prints of our area, especially the West Union area which I fell in love with. Also I have the beautiful Elkader bridge matted and framed by Perfect Edge from Decorah from my gallery showing for the low, low price of only $160 and also I have the fall Duttons Cave entryway that I took last fall and has been very popular matted and framed for only $100 and 10x20 on canvas that looks just like a painting for $70 among others. My two very favorite, the 100 year old bridge at sunset that just won a photography award last week will be there on canvas 20x30 for $160 or 16x20 print enlargement for $45 just during the craft sale, otherwise it goes for $50. Then the other and have a hard time keeping this in stock is the vertical canvas with the Motor Mill bridge and the mill in the dusky brown taken near dusk with lights and shadows that goes for $160. But I do take orders if the size or price is not what your wall or budget can afford. For the budget minded a have a few cute 5x7’s framed in also that you just have to see. I love the floating clear glass frames, great for an office desk! I also have many other prints for the budget minded from the Volga Lake with fall reflection toward sunset, Auburn Bridge with fall reflection, wildlife, birds for the bird lover and much, much more. I will have a selection of my award winning work ready to matt and frame for as low as $12 for a 8x10, $20 for 11x14, $45 for 16x20 and I will pick up the tax for you only during the craft sale or paid orders that day. If you are looking for something special for fall, holiday, or general cards to send out throughout year, I have cards with my name on the back for only $2 each of about 20 different photos I have on cards in my inventory.
The holiday season is fast approaching and if you are like me, it’s time to seriously think about holiday gifts and getting those cards out and what better place to find something special, handmade, maybe even one of a kind than at a craft sale? Bring your friends and make a fun day of it, while supporting families and children in Fayette County!
