I love to dole out congratulations. I firmly believe that it's deeply imbedded in my DNA. Whether it's one of my children (or grandchildren) taking their first steps or seeing a dear friend make it through a tough pickle, I always try to be there with a "good job" and a hearty slap on the back.
You're probably starting to think I'm going off on one of my Carolyn rambles again so I'll get to the point: Congratulations to YOU.
Well, two YOU'S to be exact.
1) The fine folks that have orchestrated this website. What a wonderful idea, to give people a forum to express their experiences, impressions and passions about our wonderful area. Everybody has ideas, they say, but not all of them are great. Imagine Northeast Iowa is a GREAT idea.
2) I have an endless amount of admiration for my fellow bloggers (My daughter informed me I was officially a blogger this past weekend). This old lady had forgotten the joys of riding a bike and the beauty and art of trout fishing. I can't wait to talk with my grandchildren about geocaching to see if that's something their adventurous spirits might be interested in. If it is, Nana might have a couple of extra bucks laying around for a GPS.
In summary, one last congratulations: This website and its fine contributors give Northeast Iowa another fantastic representation.
