Art Festival on the Banks of the Mississippi River

Are you looking for a fun-filled day of the ARTS, with a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River? The Guttenberg Gallery & Creative Center is presenting the 2nd Annual Art by the River Fine Art Festival and Workshop on June 9, 2018, at Ingleside Park in Guttenberg, Iowa.

Along the banks of the Mississippi River, twenty white tents will line the sidewalk so artists of the region can showcase their work. This free event will have thirteen new artists. While you are here, the artists will offer workshops, live music, and tasty treats.

Start your day off at the art festival with a free yoga class for all levels at 8:00 A.M. The class will emphasize "colorful practice." After that, enjoy the many works of art! Come meet the artists and see all the painters, photographers, jewelers, ceramics, sculptors, glassblowers, basket weavers and mixed media. The art will be displayed from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Some of the artists will even be offering demonstrations throughout the day. And one artist is offering to apply temporary Henna tattoos.

In addition to all the art, there will be free fun-filled activities for the whole family to experience. The free youth activities will be held in the pavilion, starting at 9:00 A.M. The free adult activities include wheel pottery, ink wash, and river jewelry making. The Benton Willow Studio & Gallery will host a workshop for beginners called hot air balloon-themed finger painting. Please register in advance here

Relax and listen to live music and delicious food throughout the day. Starting at 9:00 A.M. to noon, you can enjoy Carpe Diem, then from noon to 2:00 P.M. vocals and keys by Sophia Landis, then from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. will be Mark Armstrong, a musician and storyteller. While enjoying the live music, sit back and relax with many tasty food vendors. Locally owned shops like Kaffee 1858 and Public House of Guttenberg is sure to set your taste buds on fire.

And don't worry, Brainfreezers Snow Cones are back by popular demand! Pick your favorite flavor from many refreshing flavors of the cool shaved ice treat. Lumpia Shanghai will also be serving lumpia, crab rangoons, sesame chicken, orange chicken, teriyaki on a stick, and bubble tea.

With a big "thank you" to Alpine Communications, Fidelity Bank and Trust, The Guttenberg Motel, Travel Iowa, and Umbrella Arts, and the hospitality sponsors Eagle Ridge Independent & Assisted Living, there will be no charge for attendees. Come see this amazing event held on June 9, 2018, at Ingleside Park in Guttenberg, Iowa.
