Elkader, itself, is a piece of art. Located along the River Bluffs Scenic Byway, the 2nd most scenic byway in Iowa, Elkader is filled with sights, sounds, and smells that will capture all your senses. The natural beauty of Elkader along the flowing Turkey River and historic Keystone Bridge will only add to the splendor of the weekend.
After a booming success last year, the fine art festival, Art in the Park is looking to return with even more attractions. The park will be filled with exhibits, booths and acts to appeal to every sense.
In addition to showcasing the art of local and regional artists in various different mediums, there will also be culinary vendors and musical performances. While the set has not been finalized yet, there is sure to be a combination of successful returners and rising newcomers.
Art in the Park will also have something to appeal to every member of the family. With the help of the Guttenberg Creativity Center, there will be an Area Youth Art Contest and Kids Creation Station. The youth will be able to explore the artwork, work together with other children and use their creativity and imagination to create their own pieces of art to take home for free. Kids can also submit their art into a contest for a chance to win a ribbon. Art in the Park will do a great job helping the youngsters tap into their creative minds and make it into reality for them to admire and be proud of.
Some of the best art, music, and food of Northeast Iowa will all be in one location at Founders’ Park in Elkader on August 20-21 for free! This is a must-see!
