Cresco is a beautiful small town in Northeast Iowa. Cresco offers some of the most amazing sceneries in Iowa. During winter season, it is a joyful place for anyone who loves snowmobiling.
Driftrunners Inc. is a non-profit organization that began in 1968. The non-profit organization has been contributing financially to the community through the club. The club financially supports people who are affected by Spina Bifida.
Their snowmobile club is open to all ages and offers close to 200 miles of snowmobiling trails. Beautiful rivers and forest areas surround the trails, offering a visual treat for the snowmobilers. Driftrunners exclusively maintain the trails. The trails connect seven communities with the Cresco town and is one of the main attraction during wintertime for the people in Iowa.
What can you expect from the event?
The Snow Fest is a four-day event (Thursday-Sunday) that happens on the last weekend of January. All the days are filled with rides and activities for people of all ages. Thursday and Friday are focused on poker run and trail ride at Kleeves and Cresco lanes. There is a special early bird ride on the first day at the Hideway. Poker run continues all day on Saturday. Along with that, activities including a scavenger hunt, bean bag tournament, raffle drawings and silent auctions happen through the day.
You can even go through the Obstacle Course at North of Driftrunner Building on Saturday. There is a Breast Cancer family ride and Vintage Sled ride to Bubba's in Schley at noon at the Expo Center.
The main highlight of the third day is the Jack Byrnes/Ray Rance Memorial Torchlight Parade at the around 6 pm. This event is an excellent family entertainer. The Bonfire event at 7 pm and Snowball Dance from 8 pm conclude the activities for the day. The final fourth day is for cooling off with raffle drawing, brunch and family trail ride.
