Our local A&W / Long John Silver's will hold Classic Car Nights in Cresco. On a June scorcher in 1919, California's Roy Allen sold his first mug of frosty root beer for a nickel. Decades later, A&W - named for Allen and his pal Frank Wright - remains an icon for chilled mugs of frosty beers. Today, A&W has a total of 7,300 branches in 15 countries.
A&W / Long John Silver's is family owned and operated by the Mashek families since 2003. A&W / Long John Silver's restaurant is a unique co-branded concept serving A&W All American Food and Long John's Silver's all under the same roof. A&W / Long John Silver's has a convenient drive-in, a Big "Marie Room," a private meeting room and party room. A&W / Long John Silver's has a retro dining room with a vintage 1950s diner decor, bubbler jukebox. The A&W root beer on tap is served up in a frosty mug for beer tasters.
