The Edgewood Rodeo Days first started in 1987. Gerald Perrinjaquet, a local businessman, brought the idea to the Edgewood Chamber of Commerce Board. In the beginning, the rodeo was held at the Edgewood Feed Mill and once at the high school football field. In 1992, Day Welterlen, another local businessman, donated the land where the rodeo is located to this day. The community of Edgewood has improved and advanced this event through the years for all ages. So, what are you waiting for? Come to visit and enjoy Edgewood Rodeo Days!
Here are the fun-filled family activities planned for this year's event:
- The rodeo starts nightly at 8:00 P.M. Three Hills Rodeo INC. puts on the best rodeo action in Northeast Iowa. Family night at the rodeo will be Thursday, June 21, 2018.
- Come and participate in the fun with the Rescue Race (all three nights), Wild Horse Race (Friday night), and Money the Hard Way (Saturday night). Cash prizes will be awarded to the fastest team/participant. Who doesn’t enjoy a challenge or two?
- Saturday, June 23, 2018, will start off with a 5K walk/run. The Edgewood Parade will start at 2:00 P.M. Dust off your lawn chairs and be ready to catch some candy!
- Sunday, June 24, 2018, will be the Annual Demolition Derby. There will be a cash prize for the top five in midsize and any year stock. The top four in mini-vans/trucks will also win a cash prize. Be ready for the mud to fly and a good crash to happen. During the intermission, the popular Kid Pig Scramble and Adult Pig Scramble are back.
