Have you wanted to complete a creative writing project? Maybe you have an idea for a short story, but you don’t know where to start. Have you wanted to participate in the Poetry Slam, but you don’t know how to begin a poem? This is the class for you!
Instructed by June Melby, the Jumpstart Your Creative Writing adult class will introduce you to various writing exercises to get your creative juices flowing and your motor running.
You can start new pieces or get some new ideas for enriching projects you’ve already started. This course welcomes anyone, no matter their writing ability or experience. Whether you have a collection of short stories written or if you don’t know how to write more than a grocery list, you can expect a fun and encouraging class that will help you get creative!
Repeat students are always welcome. This six-week class will begin on Monday, March 27, and will continue every Monday until May 1 from 6:30-8:30pm at ArtHaus. This course costs $120. Come join us for a creative experience!
June Melby is a writer, a performer, and a former stand-up comedian. Her works include a personal memoir, My Family and Other Hazards, which will be made for television by Warner Brothers Television. She has published multiple works, including poetry, fiction, and nonfiction pieces. In 2009, Melby received an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa.
