Fifteen years ago this summer, the first Northeast Iowa Antique Engine and Power Show was held in the East Industrial Park in Fredericksburg, Iowa. It was a day that a dream was coming true to a group of men and women that had an avid interest in a past way of farming and in the antique tractors, farm equipment and engines. People from the area came to see what this group was about. It is about Celebrating Our History and Our Heritage!
For several years, the show was held in the East Industrial Park but as ideas grew and more people attended the event, the group put their heads together once again and were able to purchase a piece of ground southeast of Fredericksburg on Stanley Avenue now named Pioneer Power Acres. At the Pioneer Power Acres, you will find a saw mill, a wooded corn crib, display building plus more.
At the present time, the Group is in the process of erecting a building that will hold working displays so that people can have a hands-on-experience with ideas still coming in as to what the possibilities might be for this building.
The success of the Northeast Iowa Antique Engine & Power Show is due to the many hours of work by many volunteers, donations of equipment and buildings. Dreams are becoming a reality, as the volunteers continue to work and build on the Pioneer Power Acres making it a “working/ education” center for celebrating farming history and teaching others of our heritage.
