The 29th Annual Edgewood Pro Rodeo Days are set to kick off on Thursday, June 23 and will ride on until Sunday, June 26.
The last full weekend in June will bring in rodeo lovers from all across the country to small town Edgewood, Iowa in scenic Clayton County. The weekend is packed full of fun events for the whole family to enjoy.
The great times begin on Thursday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m. with a Kid’s Street Carnival. The first rodeo of the weekend will begin at 8 p.m. with “Tough Enough to Wear Pink.” Be sure to stick around for fireworks and a DJ in the beer garden.
The fun continues in the morning on Friday, June 24 at 9:00 a.m. with Chalk Games and the Nick Brady Memorial Golf Tournament. Be sure to rest up for the rodeo, “Wrangler National Patriot,” that night beginning at 8:00 p.m. with the crowning of Miss Edgewood at intermission. The fireworks will blast off again with festivities continuing in the beer garden.
Wake up bright and early on Saturday, June 25, to gallop and trot in the 5K starting at 7:30 a.m. and then get some candy and lunch to rejuvenate at the “Making History” Parade at 2:00 p.m with more activities following at the park afterwards. The final rodeo of the weekend will be held at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 26, will cap off the weekend with the Fireman’s Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Demolition Derby, starting 1:00 p.m., will bring the weekend to an end with a bang!
The rodeos will be brought by the Three Hills Rodeo, Inc., which has been bringing the best rodeo show to Edgewood for the past 25 years.
