It's difficult to adequately describe to most folks-- even fellow Midwesterners, just how special and unique Northeast Iowa is. It's got its own rare, incredible Driftless landscape, impeccably charming small towns, a homegrown flavor and incomparable zeal. There's nothing quite like it.
Art and culture are applauded here, and now in a brand new way. Recently, the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau (or WCVB) has piloted a project to highlight the artistry of the region's kids, while simultaneously casting a spotlight on the incredible events and places the region has to offer.
Aptly titled "Kids Are Tourists Too", the kid-powered coloring book, featuring the artwork of area children who submitted their own original drawings, is now available for pickup at the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Center, and is also available via free download.
Filled with the work of little artists from Fort Atkinson to Calmar, Waucoma, and Decorah, the book is a beautiful rendering that represents the energy and places that make Northeast Iowa a fantastic place to visit or call home.
Drop by the WCVB Visitors Center for a free printed copy, or download and print one at home.
Encourage the big, bright futures and efforts of Northeast Iowa youth and learn more about the area, with the "Kids Are Tourists Too" coloring book. A big Driftless thanks to all of the children who participated, and the families helping them grow where they are planted.
