The Franklin Hotel: The Past, Present, and Future of Strawberry Point

The Franklin Hotel in Strawberry Point really has it all. It's located among the rolling bluffs of Clayton County in Northeast Iowa.

The historic hotel takes its visitors back in time to the turn of the 20th century. Built in 1902, the Franklin is on the National Register of Historic Places. It maintains the old charm and splendor that make it a must-visit in Clayton County.

As soon as you walk in the front door, you get a feeling for the history that has made the Franklin what it is today, including the stories of the cook’s buttermilk pancakes, the blind bachelor, the bartender’s Bloody Mary’s, and yes, even a ghost!

The Franklin Hotel is available for visitors to have a home cooked meal, stay the night in one of their cozy rooms, or both!

Rooms that will truly take you back in time are available year round. Combined with the friendly staff and character from years ago, the hotel is a wonderfully comfortable place to stay!

Come to the Franklin for an amazing home-cooked meal. With daily specials and a large, diverse menu, the Franklin kitchen has something to offer everyone.

They also do catering and banquets for groups of up to 25 people.

Head over to the Pub to enjoy a refreshing drink and maybe even join in on some karaoke for a chance to win a prize!
