Up Up! Farm and Film Fest Comes to Decorah for Spring

Cute pigs. Coconuts. Chickens and I have your attention?

Just as spring awakens and the smell of soil once again rises from the fields, the Winneshiek Energy District and Seed Savers Exchange will bring the Up Up! Farm Film Fest to Decorah, IA April 13-23.

The Up Up! Film Fest explores themes of farming, land access, and rural livelihood and the connection of people to place.

The film fest is a project of the Greenhorns, a non-profit that supports young farmers in America. This festival has most recently been held at the Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service (MOSES) conference held in La Crosse, Wisconsin in February. It has also taken place in about dozen other cities across the U.S. and Canada.

Stories about the determination of Maine dairy farmers, the life of a coconut, the holiness of chocolate, a small town boot maker, and more will explore the relationships between people and the land and rural communities they steward.

Up Up! Decorah is a FREE festival thanks to the support of the following organizations:

Screenings take place at a variety of places and times during the ten day festival period. Below are a few events you won't want to miss:
